First up was David, from Castleford and his interview took place in his art studio on 13^th November, during which he described how he came to be disabled, following a rugby accident over 40 years ago. He relayed how as part of his rehabilitation, he tried mouth painting, and subsequently, his work came to the attention of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, which he then joined. This meant that he (along with the rest of his fellow MFPA artists) has been able to make his own living from painting images used for producing MFPA products. The interview also drew attention to the fact that David’s specific paintings adorn the cover of the MFPA 2024 desk calendar and the January page, which gives an indication of the popularity of his work.

The interview with David went so well that ITV then decided to conduct another interview with fellow Yorkshire artist Leanne Beetham 10 days later. Leanne, also a mouth painter is based in Hull and is highly regarded for her exquisite wildlife drawings and paintings.
